Bio-Scrubber®

Bio-Scrubber®The biotrickling system is used in the control and removal of odorous compounds, principally hydrogen sulfide (H2S), with the smallest available biological scrubber footprint and onefifth the operating costs of chemical scrubbers.

The system is used in the control and removal of odorous compounds, principally Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S). The system consists of a vertical or horizontal biological oxidation section. The system configuration enables the gaseous phase to flow counter-currently, or co-currently, through the bacteria oxidation ecosystem consisting of a recirculation solution containing mineral nutrients and trace elements flowing over the porous rock media. The scrubbing solution and media serve as the ecosystem for microorganisms, and is continuously re-circulated without the use of chemicals for neutralization, or the need for constant adjustment after start-up.

Biofilter Scrubbers

Biological treatment technologies can be combined when higher levels of H2S are present in mixed air stream applications. (e.g. Headworks, Clarification, Biological & Solids Processes; and Collection Facilities). Combining a bio-scrubber to treat high concentrations of H2S followed by an organic bio-oxidizer for the additional odor compounds and VOCs provides a complete odor control solution with significantly lower operating and labor costs compared to chemical scrubbers. The modularity of the combined system ensures a long media life and reduced footprint over conventional bio-oxidation technologies.

Carbon Adsorbers

The carbon adsorber system uses activated carbon to remove low levels of hydrogen sulfide and other odor causing constituents. The adsorber may also be used as a “polisher” after chemical or biological trickling scrubbers.

Wet Chlorine Gas Scrubbers

This system is a one-pass, pre-piped, wired, and packaged emergency gas scrubber system including: an absorber with vertical packed bed stages, mist eliminator, exhaust fan, integral caustic storage tank, recirculation pump, piping, and control panel.
